Windows 10: We can't open .... It uses unsupported encoding settings. 0x80004002

holami problema es en cuanto al audio en general desde que se actualizo no he podido escuchar nada, ningun solo audio o video, ya sea desde el navegador o desde la misma laptop, ya he probado actualizar los drivers, actualizar el windows y nada me funciona. Necesito ayuda no puedo trabajar sin audio en mi computadora

Upon checking the error 0x80004002 occurs possibly due to lack of important updates, corrupted system file or incompatible applications. In this scenario Microsoft Expression
Encoder 4 is not compatible with Windows 10. This might be the root cause of the issue.

Windows 10 / Windows Media Encoder 9 - No such interface supported 0x80004002

Hi,

We're seeing an issue with the upgrade to W10 anniversary edition and its effect on windows media encoder 9.

When attempting to set up a profile with the installed capture card (Osprey 700's), wme returns the following error:

No such interface supported (0x80004002)

This is confusing as the software can see the capture card, and other programs such as Flash Live Media Encoder work perfectly.

We have 6 encoding machines running w10 that we use for live streaming broadcasts, each utilising wme9 for recording offline archives of the broadcast along with the relevant script pushes. All of them have been working perfectly until this latest update.

I've checked the other posts concerning this error both on this site and elsewhere on the web and most suggestions seem to point to a virus. However, I've run several scans on all concerned encoding boxes and am positive that this is not the issue.

This problem was immediately apparent once the upgrade took place, so I'm wondering what we can do to fix this outside of rolling back to an earlier build. While wme9 is an extremely old piece of software, it's performing an important task and needs to be
able to run.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
