    I have an HP Prodesk 400 G5 SFF, Intel Pentium Gold, G5400 3.70mhz, 16 GB, computer, running Windows !! PRO, and to my surprise when I got it there was no Bluetooth or Network adapter, so I purchased a Bluetooth dongle, and a NetGear AC1200 WiFi USB Adapter 802.11ac Dual Band, USB 3.0 - Model A6210. I installed the software that came with the Network adapter and checked for updates installation was successful and am able to sign in to the internet with ease. However, the real issue comes into play when I go into settings and click on Network & Internet tab, scroll down to Mobile Hotspot

    By the way, is your airplane mode turn off?

    Windows 10 Hotspot error: We can't setup mobile hotspot. Turn on Wi-Fi

    You may want to try these two commands in the Command prompt. They fixed up the exact same problem:

    1. Open a command prompt as admin.
    2. In it, type the following:

      where name is your chosen network name and password is your password, followed by:


    This is a command line version of the switch found in the Settings app... Hope it helps!

    Thank you for helping. I tried all the steps in last few days but unfortunately nothing has changed. I am still unable to setup the mobile hotspot. Kindly suggest what other steps I should try.
