  2. Well, to my surprised, I just encountered a microsoft error, "We Can't Sign You In". Because of that, it'll create a temp profile and i have to sign out and sign back in to get my profile back. I heard that my profile might be corrupted, but I look into a fix by deleting the temp profile registry and remove the .bak from the corrupted one, but that didn't seem to work. I dunno what else to fix that error. Help would be appreciated and no, I didn't make a system restore. I really don't want to re-install windows to fix that error.

Also, during the time of the error..there are a tone of errors coming from esent event id 522 and user profiles event id from 1502 to 1515. This error occurs randomly.

"We can't sign into your account" after Anniversary Edition update

I had the same problem after the update. I was able to Dismiss the error about "We can't sign into your account" and it seemed to give me a temporary user profile. The had Kaspersky10 mr3 installed prior to the update. Using my temp profile, I ran the
kavremover tool from Kasperskey Labs and rebooted. After reboot, the error went away. Windows said "hi" and told me to hang on as it made some more updates to the system. Finally, my familiar windows environment came back.

  5. I have the same issue. Just started randomly 3 days ago. Computer boots up to a non Microsoft account and says "can't log in". I have to log out and log back in and everything is fine. Again this is totally random and just started.

  6. Yep, you and me, buddy. I'd feel that it happens to some users, but I'm wondering if mine was a different case of an error. I did check up on both my ssd and hdd on crystaldisk, status shows both of then are healthy with no sector problems. I'll try to run memtest later though.

  7. I have run every test I can think of and everything runs perfect and checks out. It is so random that I can't reproduce the issue on purpose. It will happen on restart or if the computer is totally turned off.

Yeah, I couldn't reproduce the issue either. I might try out a new user account to see if the error has stopped. Can you do that and see?

  9. It only happens when trying to login to my microsoft account. Doesn't happen with a non Microsoft user account. I am not going to stress too much or take a lot of time right now since the new update will probably be out in a few days. Will see what happens after the update. Still not sure why it would just start happening a few days ago.

Coincidentally I've also had this happen to me as well today on a laptop running Win 10 1709 Build 16299.309. I only use a local account, not a Microsoft account.

Bear in mind that the last time I had used this laptop was 2 days ago and everything had appeared to be working normally. When I switched it on today I was informed that a temporary profile had been used. I'd only switched it on to check if a friend's wireless mouse worked with it so, after testing, shut the laptop down again.

It wasn't until later that I saw this thread... so switched the laptop back on again. Reliability History shows 18 failed Windows Updates (6 of which are games... why are these classed as 'Updates' when they're really PUPs?). More importantly, it also showed 'Windows was not properly shut down" with a log time of 18:06. WTH? I'd only just switched it on, used it for ~30 minutes then shut it down again... and the shutdown had appeared to be quite normal.

"We Can't Sign You In" Problem / creates the temp profile....

" I just encountered a microsoft error, "We Can't Sign You In". "
I have had this on switch on about 2 days ago accompanied by a seemingly permanent black screen.

    Mine are all Local Accounts.

During the black screen I used Ctrl + Alt + Del to the Task Manager. The process using the CPU was WSAPPX. Then switched to another Test admin account.

From that Account used the Apps troubleshooter, Updated Apps from the MS Store, switched back to the usual user account and then the same thing on that account where the MS Store and a number of Apps would not start or had odd Grey icons.
Then uninstalled the Apps that were not starting at all.
Eventually MS Store and Apps worked again.

It will save you doing any complex stuff. The simple stuff worked on mine. I admit to having no idea why these things worked but they seem to have done.

The alternative Test admin account was actually created by MS when I contacted them about other problems way back. I kept that Account for this sort of scenario.

  15. I see some people had problems with their local accounts but mine was an microsoft account. Weird thing is I tried out helmut's solution as well as deleting temp and weird profiles on users folder. Atempted to restart my PC multiple times and no "we cannot sign you into your account" problem. Not sure which is which but I feel this is too early to tell as you're all having the same problem. Its just feels so weird. Because of that I decided to create another user account. If I ever encountered that error again, I'll try out Brink's solution. *Smile
