    On my HP Envy 17 running Windows 10 with 16 GB of RAM,

    Every time Windows 10 tries to install "Feature Update for Windows 10 Version 1909" It always errors out "Undoing changes made to your computer" pre-log-in and "we couldn't finish installing updates" after logging in.

    After Windows undoes the changes, the laptop will power off and on by itself seven or eight times before booting up and after I log in, that is when I ALWAYS receive the "we couldn't finish installing updates"
    error message. Viewing details gives error 0x8007001f

    Google searches of both these error messages only result in spammy dodgy results and no other help forums regarding these. The search for "we couldn't finish installing updates" was WAY worse when it came to results.

    Does anybody know what the problem could be

    Fixed two issues using Windows update troubleshooter but still the update fails to install.

    Had a power failure while the update was installing.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Creators Update "We couldn't finish installing updates"

    Hi,

    Here's what happened so far:

    I got a message about an update failing to install - I hit 'fix this' and it says the creators update can't install and I need to remove Glyph. I can't find a glyph uninstaller so I rename a program that has glyph in the filename and that lets the creators
    update proceed. After windows restarts, it says "we couldn't finish installing updates", and it starts downloading the creators update again. Then it had the message in the screenshow below. Then I hit retry, it restarted and "we couldn't finish installing
    updates" again. Any ideas?

    I've also tried the

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    commands, they haven't helped. Edit:

    And we are back! The problem resurfaced today excactly as before. Two weeks all was fine, now the same again!
