we couldn't free up any disk space

hello:I have a question. When I go to storage sense to free up temporary files, there is a message stating that we couldn't free up any disk space. I installed software and updates but there is nothing to free up. Is that possible or there is really nothing to free up?

    :)

  2. "We couldn`t create a new partition or locate an existing one."

    Try this:

Before you get to that message, press SHIFT + F10 to open a command prompt.

    Run diskpart.
At the diskpart prompt, run these commands:

    list disk

At this point you should see the SSD as disk 0. If it has another disk number, use that number rather than "0" in the next command.

    select disk 0
    clean
    exit (to exit from diskpart)
exit (to exit from the command prompt)

That should clear the contents of the disk. The entire disk space should then show up in Windows setup as "Unallocated Space" as in the screenshot below.

disk space reduced after media creation tool

    Hi Sarah,

One of the possible reasons why your disk space was reduced is due to an unallocated disk space on your partitions. For us to isolate your concern, we suggest that you check your device's partition. To do this, follow the steps provided below:

    • Type Computer Management on Ask me anything and press
      Enter.
    • Select Storage and click on Disk Management.
    • Send us a screenshot.
We look forward to your response.
