Windows 10: We couldn't install Windows 10 - 0x80070005 - 0x2000A, failed in SAFE_OS phase with an...

Hello everyone -


I'm having a couple different issues, one regarding upgrading my Windows 1703 to 1903, and installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1703 updates. I will attempt to install the updates, but it will stop half way through the upgrade and will "undo changes to your computer" and will not upgrade Windows and install the updates, and I cannot find a proper solution for it, despite doing all in my knowledge mainstream "solutions" to fix the issue including:





Uninstalling my anti-virus

Turning off my firewall

Installing with "clean boot"

Using Windows Update Troubleshooter

Ensuring Windows Update Service, BITS, and Superfetch are started and on automatic

Deleting all of the contents in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Ran System File Checker

Enabled file and folder permissions for all users

Created "AllowOSUgrade" in registry editor

Using Windows10Upgrade program

Using MediaCreation Tool

Resetting Windows 10


I am only left with the message,


0x80070005 - 0x2000A


The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during PREPARE_FIRST_BOOT operation


I have no idea what to do next. Even after resetting Windows 10 I cannot get my computer to update from 1703 to 1903 and updating Framework 4.8. I hope someone can help me out with this
