Windows 10: We couldn't install Windows 11 - error 0x80070002 - 0x20007

I've repeatedly tried to install the Windows 11 2022 H2 version, but it keeps failing via Windows update. I've tried all of the usual solutions that people often reference - cleaning up the Software Distribution directory, running the Windows Update troubleshooter, running DISM & SFC. Several of the forums I've seen suggest that running the installer via the ISO download is bombproof. Alas, that seems not to be the case:When I try running it this way, it also fails, as the above screenshot post installation clearly states. Uninstall the Realtek driver from the driver store. You can reinstall it after updating to 22H2. See How to Completely Uninstall a Driver in Windows 11/10

2004 update windows 10 error 0x80070002

Hello everyone,

thanks to some of the suggestions here and to some from other sources I have managed to fix the 0x80070002 error breaking up my feature update to 2004.

For completeness' sake and since it may help others, the following steps worked for me.

1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website
2. Create a bootable USB drive with the MCT
3. Boot up from this USB Drive
4. Choose install settings, click 'Next', but on the next screen select "Repair your computer" instead of "Install"
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" -> "Startup Repair" and let it finish
6. Restart into Windows and attempt the usual Windows update

It looks like the BCD on my computer had been damaged by the boot loader (Windows 10 + Recovery partition) and running the "Startup Repair" from the installation USB Drive corrected the errors.

good evening everyone I just downloaded and created the windows 11 media creation tool and tried to upgrade from windows 10 Pro x64 Edition Version 21H1Build operating system 19043.1266 to windows 11 but the wizard stops showing me the following message "it is not possible to determine if your pc is ready to continue installing windows 11. try restarting the installer" there is a problem select retry if the problem persists contact microsoft support for assistance error code 0x80070002
