We downloaded a large zip file and our computer immediately shut down. Now when we turn it on, it will turn on, beep five times and shut off. Did the large zip file cause this failure?

Windows 11 zipped folders / files immediately crashes File Explorer

My Dell laptop was previously Windows 10, now 11. When I right click any zipped folder, it immediately crashes Windows Explorer, but then everything comes back. I can't unzip any zipped file at all - doesn't seem to matter what size it is.

I was trying to use the built-in unzipper utility in Windows, and when that didn't work I tried a couple 3rd party apps, including WinZip. Nothing works; they all crash, and they crash on ANY zipped file I have.

And by the way if I try to ZIP any set of files - even just 3 little word files, it does the same thing. The screen flashes, all my icons go away for a second. Then things come back, but nothing will zip or unzip.

Why is my computer crashing when im trying to extract large zip files.

Hi everyone, I am completing some work for university and i have a large dataset that is downloaded in a zip file, they are large between 3-6gb and some of them extract fine and others black screen my computer and it reboots. I have never had such an issue with crashing in any way and i have had this computer for over 3 years and the hard drive im extracting on is not even a year old. I did not have any other applications on except firefox with 2 tabs open.

Specs:

CPU: i7-7700k

RAM: 32GB @ 3600mhz

GPU: MSI 3070

HDD extracting on: 500gb Crucial SSD (Windows on same HDD)
