Windows 10: We found a Windows 10 Home digital license for this devise running Windows 10 Home Single...

I recently Upgraded my Windows using the Windows10UpgraderApp. After the update ran successfully, my windows version changed from Windows 10 Home SL to Windows 10 Home, which led to me losing my Activation. I tried troubleshooting the Activation but that didn't work. I can do a Recovery but that'd mean that I will lose the update. I'm looking for a solution which lets me keep my Activation and also keep my windows updated to the latest version.P.S. Whenever I do a regular update from Settings after booting I get an error suggesting "We couldn't complete the updates Undoing changes", which is w

Windows 10 upgrade license

Hello guys,

I have 1 license of WIndows 8.1 FPP/retail license. I want to upgrade to WIndows 10, but I one thing is unclear to me.
If I upgrade, will WIndows 10 license be retail or it will "turn" into some sort of OEM license?

I ask this because I upgrade my PC, you know, more memory, replace HDD, and I intend to upgrade the MB and CPU to Kaby Lake platform sometime in the future, (and of course sell the replaced hardware)
This thing is not clearly mentioned anywhere.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Do you have a source to back that up because it sounds like speculation.


Dunno about anyone else but I've seen nothing on MSDN or TN to suggest single machine license. What purpose would it serve when the OS is free?
Hence why VL and Enterprise are not part of the offer I imagine..... more likely to be done the way Office 365 is imho, a subscription tied to an account......
