Windows 10: We would like to upgrade the version of SQL running with MBAM from 2019 to SQL 2022.

We would like to upgrade the version of SQL running with MBAM from 2019 to SQL 2022.We are running MBAM v2.5.1100, please advise on the pre-requisites and compatibility of our MBAM version with SQL 2022. Please also advise on respective backups we need to take on MBAM and / or changes needed in configuration settings.

upgrade feasibility from SQL Server 2008 to 2019

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to upgrade legacy applications from SQL Server 2008 / Windows 2008R2 to SQL Server 2019 / Windows 2019

SQL Server 2008 Enterprise -> SQL Server 2019 Enterprise

SQL Server 2008 Standard -> SQL Server 2019 Standard

SQL Server 2008 Express -> SQL Server 2019 Standard

We will also be deploying .NET 2.0 code of 4.7.2 framework (Windows 2019) .

Please advise if there will be any feasibility / compatibility issues for the same.

The main Pro of upgrading to SQL server 2019 will be the long term support which 2016 will be getting to the end of in 2021 (mainstream support ending)

Other Pro will be that 2019 update brought a bunch of new cutting edge features that have since been started to be used.

here is a comparison of these new features in 2019 with availability among 2016 and 2017 :

But since most of these features are new 2019 update has all the issues that plague new releases and you should be ready to keep the updates rolling because you will be getting a lot of patches on pretty significant issues. Alongside that since the update has
been relatively new you will have to work out issues popping up on your own.
