Windows 10: Weather is not refresh in taskbar and how to completely turn off breaking news in News and...

After install KB5017380, 7 days ago is not refresh and also breaking news.I suggest how to completely turn off breaking news [also hightlights] during click weather on taskbar but no way to disable because increase CPU and RAM.My Windows 10 version 19044.2075.

No weather icon in taskbar after new update

Hello everyone,

After installing the new update KB5010414, no new weather icon appeared on the left of the taskbar. I have tried these steps to solve these problem :

• Disable task from the taskbar
  
• Reinsall Windows Feature Experience Pack from powershell
  
• Reinstall the KB5010414 update
  

But neither of those helped to solve the problem. I think this is a bug. How can I figure it out ? I do not use beta, dev, preview channels.

• Right-click anywhere on the taskbar.
  
• Click “News and Interests” on the menu, then “Turn Off” from the sub menu That’s it!
  
• Your taskbar will no longer display the weather widget.
  
• You can easily restore it by simply selecting “Show Icon and Text” from the same menu at any time.
  

The “Show Icon Only” option allows you to display a smaller widget on your taskbar.

 

News and weather widget on taskbar not showing weather, just a newspaper icon

After a recent Windows update, my News and interests icon got stuck showing rain (but no temperature), even though I had it set to "Show icon and text", and the rain was long gone. An additional reboot got it going again.

But I still had the original problem. Periodically, the icon switches from weather to financial reporting. Finally, I found an article which told me how to fix (or at least, modify) that: How to Configure Windows 10’s Weather & News Taskbar Widget (howtogeek.com). Although I hate the "Open on hover" feature, and normally have it turned off, it's necessary to temporarily turn it on, in order to perform the procedures described in the article.
