Windows 10: "Web Browser" is not listed under "Default Apps". Windows 11 23H2

Following recent updates, I'm unable to set my default web browser. There is no entry for "Web Browser" between "VLC Media Player" and "Windows Backup" on my "Default Apps" page see attached screenshot. I can set the application used to open .htm and .html files under "Choose defaults by file type", but this does not affect the web browser which Outlook, Teams, etc, use to open links. In my Outlook settings, the options for "Open hyperlinks from Outlook" are "Microsoft Edge" and "Default Browser", and I have it set to "Default Browser".How do I restore the "Web Browser" entry to my Defaul

My name is Mohammed Shuain, an Independent Advisor & I understand from the description that you want to make the Chrome browser as your default browser. Please follow the below steps.

Step 1:

Go to Search box next to Windows icon and type Default app Settings

Step 2:

Click to open Default app Settings

Step 3:

Under choose, default apps scroll down to see the Web browser

Step 4:

Click on the Browser shown to get the default browsers list to select from

Step 5:

Select Google Chrome

You may try these.

Follow the steps below:

For Windows 10:

• 
  Select the start button, and then type
  Default app settings
  
• 
  In the search results, select default app settings
  
• 
  Under web browser, select the browser currently listed and then select Mozilla fire fox or another browser
  

For Windows 7, 8.1:

• 
  Go to control panel
  
• 
  In the search box, located on the upper right corner
  type Default programs
  
• 
  Click on Default programs
  
• 
  Click on Set your default program
  
• 
  Click on Mozilla Firefox
  
• 
  Click on Set this program as default
  
• 
  Click Ok

No browsers listed under Default Apps. How can I fix this?

I am unable to change my default browser as the option doesn't even exist. Under Default Apps there is no option for "browser" or "web browser". Additionally, Edge, Brave, and Firefox do not show up in that list. In the search box for "Set defaults for applications" I have searched for each of those terms and it tells me it can't find anything. I thought maybe I was in S Mode but I went to Activation settings and verified I am in Windows 11 Pro and it is activated. I also have no pending updates. What am I missing here?

I am running Windows 11 Pro -- Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3447)
