    Update Freezing Web Browsers

    Hi,

There may be some browser components that do not sit well with the new updates installed on your computer. Before we can resolve the error, please answer these questions for us to understand what happens:

    • Do you get any error messages when the browsers freeze?
    • Are Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge affected?
    • Does the problem occur when you access a specific site?

We suggest you delete the browser history, or completely reset the browsers that are affected.

Let us know if the suggestions fix the problem.

Come back if you need more help.

  3. Web browsers ALWAYS freeze

I have a new PC running Windows. I've had the machine for just over a month. It does not like to run web browesers. Not Edge, and not Chrome, either. From the minute I took it out of the box and booted it up. An hour or so into a web session, and the browser
freezes. It doesn't matter which browser, though the manner of freezing a little different for this one as opposed to that one. Bottom line, I don't get to enjoy the sort of internet access I had decades ago. Perhaps my Team Apple friends were right - this
is par for the course for us cheapskates who put ourselves at the mercy of Windows.

Does anybody have a useful suggestion, or do I have to continue with powering the machine down several times an evening?

Web links in other apps take forever to open in browser

    Hi,

The issue your experiencing about the hyperlink can happen to one or more of the following reasons:

    • The setting where you choose what web browser that you want to use is corrupted. This can cause Windows to misinterpret which browser is set as the default browser on your computer.
    • After the software was installed, settings were changed, which can cause links to webpages to work incorrectly.
    • A previously installed browser or add-in might be interfering with other software on your computer.
    • Registry keys were changed or became corrupted.

You can set Internet Explore or Microsoft Edge as your default browser for opening weblinks in your app and check if the issue will still occur.

We suggest to clear cache and cookies from the Microsoft Edge browser. See steps below:

    • Open Microsoft Edge, click on More Action at the right top corner.
    • Click on Settings, click on Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.
    • Select the Browsing history, caches and cookies and hit Clear.
    • Close the browser and try to open it again.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
