  1. Web connections timing out, slow operation, desktop

On my somewhat old but mostly functional desktop HP Touchsmart 610-5010f with Windows 10 (64 bit) web searches using browsers Chrome, Edge or Fifefox time out or show error message "unable to connect to this site". Are their solutiuons short of hard reinstall/reset of Windows 10 which wipes out all currently installed apps, many of .which may be problematic to retrieve? Thank you in advance for useful suggestgions.

    :)

    Remote Desktop Connection problems

Have you tried Remote Desktop Connection, to connect from your Windows 10 laptop to your Windows 7 desktop? Try it first, post back and tell how it went.

Some additional help because you mentioned you are a remote newbie *Wink. The windows 7 related tutorials from our sister site the Seven Forums:

    1. On Windows 7 desktop, set network location to either Home or Work (I recommend Work):
    2. On Windows 7 desktop, allow incoming remote connections:
    3. On Windows 7 desktop, find out its IP address:
    4. On Windows 10 laptop, start the Remote Desktop application and connect to the Windows 7 desktop using the IP address from step 3 above (see Part Three in the tutorial):
Try the above, post back how it went.

Speakers and headphones work at the same time

    Hi.

Let us isolate your concern by answering these few questions.

    • Have you tried connecting your headphones directly to your desktop?
    • Does your speaker work normally when connected to your desktop?
You may try the following steps to help resolve your concern:

    • Unplug or Disconnect your speaker from the desktop.
    • Connect your headphone directly to the desktop.
If the headphone works properly when directly connected to the desktop, we suggest that you contact your speaker manufacturer for assistance.

Let us know how it goes.
