To make matters worse, 123reg is asking customers with backups to fix their own problem (although 123reg has been nice enough to provide a basic how-to guide).

One customer, software firm InnMaster, told The Register that on Saturday morning, someone from the web host "ran a script that had a catastrophic error in it," resulting in the deletion of servers and customer websites.

"Our hosting provider still hasn't restored anyone's data and most of their customers' websites are still offline," the company said in a statement. "They have told all customers that they would be better off starting from scratch with a blank server and rebuilding it, which is what we are now doing. Building a new web server from a fresh install is a full days' work."...

  2. How do I sync a calendar with a hosted email calandar?

I have a Lumia 920 and a hosted business email service with 123reg which includes the ability to sync the calendar. I previously had a personal email account with the same providor but bought the business one for the calandar sync and now I can't get it
    to work!

With the personal account, if I tried to accept a meeting request, the phone would give a message saying somthing like "this account does not sync with a calandar would you like to reply from another email account" and automatically reply from my Windows
Live account and add the meeting into the calandar. With the business account it does the same thing!

How do I set up the account on the phone so that I can accept meeting requests from my hosted email account and have them appear in the calandar on my phone?

Any help gratefully recevied as it is driving me mad!

wow. Also "One customer, software firm InnMaster, told The Register that on Saturday morning, someone from the web host "ran a script that had a catastrophic error in it," resulting in the deletion of servers and customer websites", its unlikely they "told" The Register and I suspect more likely that The Register saw this in another article since its a volunteer system.

As I understand it, 123-Reg have no backups either (unless people paid extra for that service).
The idea that anyone offering a commercial service could be using a disk running with no backup is a bit worrying.
