Webcam microphone stoped function properly after updates. Another update, another issue.

    Hello,

    Another update, another issue.

This seems to be a constant issue on my system with updates for Windows 10. The last issue was the USB ports not working.
As of mid June 2018 my Logitech Webcam microphone started this chipmunk sound to my voice. I have encountered this in the past and was able to correct this by changing the Microphone Properties under Advanced and changing the sample rate. http://prntscr.com/ke9by2 I am not able to do this anymore as I keep getting this popup stating Device is being used. http://prntscr.com/ke94if. I have disabled all access to this microphone via this panel minus just the Camera. http://prntscr.com/ke9a49

I have tried removing the device and even uninstalled the drivers rebooted my computer then at that point the microphone was not detected except as a USB Microphone and that did not function due to the drivers not being present. With the Logitech C200 drivers reinstalled I again have access to the microphone as you can see here the microphone is active. http://prntscr.com/ke9cuy The settings for Exclusive Mode on or off does not make a difference and it is usually checked.

If I have Listen activated I still sound like a Chipmunk due to the sample rates being affected. Others can hear the same when trying to talk to them. The settings are usually set for 16bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality). Changing it to 16bit, 32000 Hz (FM Radio Quality) usually fixes the issue if it is encountered. Once set to 32000 Hz it usually corrects the issue then upon reboot it again reverts back to 48000 which is fine since the issue does not return for quite some time. Again I am not able to do so due to the pop up stating device in use even with all programs off via standard shut down or services stopped.

After the June updates I am not able to correct this issue anymore and have a permanent issue now.
I am not now not able to access my voice recognition software or communicate via voice with Skype and other communication software.
I have tried to follow many suggestions online and failed to correct the issue. What am I to do to correct this issue and replacing the Webcam is not an option? I have already tried another microphone and it still had the sample rate issue causing the chipmunk sound of my voice, that was returned to the store being it had the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    GEE

    :)

    Logitech - WebCam - HD Webcam C525 - Error 0x800f0203

I followed the listed steps and the webcam is performing properly and is recognized by Windows 10, I checked software and driver updates on the Logitech site and the Logitech utility states the software and driver are up to date and working properly. The
only issue I have is with Windows 10 Updates trying to update the Logitech software/drivers in the recent update and that update is throwing the Ox800f0203 error and continues to does so after all of the suggested solutions. Which puzzles me since the Logitech
    hardware/software/driver is working properly.

  3. My webcam and microphone is not working.

    Hi Ali,

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with Microphone and Webcam.

What is the make and model of your computer?

Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

This issue might be because of settings related to Microphone.

The issue cab be resolved by making Microphone as the default device and updating the sound card drivers.

Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled and is set as default.

Make sure that the microphone that you are using is not disabled and is set as default in the computer. Follow these steps to check this:

    a) Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.

    b) Now, right click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.

    c) Select “Microphone” and click on “Properties” and make sure that the microphone is enabled.

    d) You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.

I suggest you to follow the below link to troubleshoot with camera in Windows 10:

Please reply with the results, we are happy to help you further.

Skype "can't access sound card" for microphone

    Hi,

As you are facing issues with accessing the microphone on Skype. Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

We appreciate your time spent in resolving the issue.

    • Do let us know if you have made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?
    • Which version of Skype have you installed on your computer?

As a workaround, I suggest you to check if there are any updates for the Skype app in Windows Store. If so, try to install the updates and check if it helps.

Also, I recommend you to check with the settings in Skype app.

Step 1: Check configuration in Skype

Normally, you will receive the message about recording device error, if the microphone or the webcam is not configured properly in Skype.

    To check configuration:

    • Open Skype and navigate to tools
    • Click options and check for sound device.

Step 2: Verify in the recording tab if the Microphone is enabled and working.

    To check:

    • Click Start, click Control Panel
    • Click Soundand click Audio.

Hope it helps. Update us the status with the error message on Skype for further assistance.

    Thank you.
