Windows 10: Webcam not recognized after update from Windows 7

Discus and support Webcam not recognized after update from Windows 7 in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I updated my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10, as an update not by formatting and reinstalling.     Webcam not recognized after update from Windows 7


    I updated my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10, as an update not by formatting and reinstalling.
    I realized that the webcam is not recognized anymore, in the system info under problematic devices there is a:

    Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C2D
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C2D&SUBSYS_11471043&REV_05\3&11583659&0&D0
    This device is working properly.

    In the device manager I can see the device above listed with an exclamation mark.
    The Laptop is an Asus N53SV.

    Windows 10 and webcam compatibility

    I have just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8. I have an older hp webcam that will no longer work. Is there a patch or update that I can use that helps windows 10 recognize the webcam?

    I have tried uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling the drivers. I have tried this in compatibility mode. I have tried the drivers from the manufacturers website and the drivers automatically loaded by Windows. The theme is that the applications written
    for earlier versions of Windows recognize the webcam but Windows 10 does not. I believe the Philips drivers were Microsoft certified and were for operating systems up to Windows XP. Subsequent updates were offered by the manufacturer for Windows 7. The latest
    version is September 2010. Everything worked on my system until a Windows 10 update rendered the webcam useless with apps that utilize the Windows camera software. I presume Skype will be one of these in its latest version which is why I am not using the latest
    version of Skype. Does anyone know what it is about Windows 10 updates that has caused the webcam to not be recognized?

    Webcam not recognized after update from Windows 7

    Hi and welcome! *Smile

    Go to the device Manager, double click on the camera and then click update Driver.
    Should solved the Problem.

    I can't see the webcam in the Device Manager. That's what I meant by "not recognized".

    Hi again!
    Double click on the USB Enhanced Host Controller with the exclamation mark! Choose Update Driver automatically.
