  1. Webcam not working and seemingly causing BSODs

I have a Lenovo Yoga 710-14IKB. I tried opening the Camera app and I got, alternately flashing, the message "0xA00F244<NoCamerasAreAttached>" and another message which didn't display long enough for me to read the whole thing, but which included the words "<ActiveCamerasAreUnplugged>". I also noticed that the camera light kept blinking in time to the flashing messages.

I tried resetting the camera app, and then I tried restarting the computer, but that didn't help. I also tried opening Skype and found that that couldn't access the camera either. And Lenovo Vantage tells me "Camera is in use or loading failed."

I was using Windows 10 1903 and found that an upgrade was finally available to 1909, so I installed that, but it didn't change the behaviour.

After leaving the Camera app running for a few minutes I got a BSOD with the message SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. This happened twice. I then left the computer running for a while without the Camera app open and didn't encounter another BSOD.

I then tried rolling back the camera driver (EasyCamera: Azureware/Chicony/Liteon) in Device Manager to the previous version, but that didn't work. So I went back to the latest version, but it's still not working.

What is wrong with my camera?

    :)

    ks.sys BSOD dell built-in webcam

ok i think i kinda find how to fixed this

well at least the loop bsod everytime i plug the webcam usb or restart (while the usb plugged) stopped

i am not sure if this stable enough (random bsod)

after reading lots of bsod on net.. i found this post
    http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/156234-ks-sys-bsod-post1340079.html#post1340079

so culprit is between webcam creative driver and westerndigital mybook smartware

so i uninstall all webcam software (that packed with the dell driver installer) and then also uninstall wd smartware (also removing all things related to both that listen on uninstall program list)

reboot the system, then plug it... windows10 automatically install the driver, it showing up as correct device

just for be safe, i reboot once more...

and then re-install smartware (i know its **** and not needed)

    so far no bsod

so for people having issue, and have both device

i suggest follow the step above

Just make sure let windows detect+install webcam first

    before installing wd smartware

    Webcam not working

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

This issue can occur if the camera drivers are not up-to date, your anti-virus may be blocking the camera, or camera app is not installed properly. I would suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article:
Camera does not work in Windows 10. You can also refer to the suggestion on HP article:
HP PCs - Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 8).

If you need any further assistance, please write back with the following information:

    1. What happens when you are trying to access Camera app?
    2. What is the exact error message you are getting?
    3. What is version of Windows 10 that is installed on your device?
    4. Are you using an external webcam? If yes, please help us with the make and model of the webcam.

    Regards,

Webcam Triggering 'Attempted Execute Of No Execute Memory' BSOD - Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

ATTEMPTED EXECUTE OF NOEXECUTE MEMORY Blue Screen of Death error appears when a device driver attempts to execute a program from a non-executable area of the memory. An error in the RAM (Random Access Memory) can also cause this BSOD error.

If you are using a built-in webcam, then, update the webcam driver and check if that helps.

    • Press 'Windows key + X' and choose 'Device Manager'.
    • Under 'Imaging devices', right-click on the webcam driver and update the driver.

Also I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article and check if it helps.

Hope this information is helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.
