Suggestion - for improwing the Windows-Usability!WEBCAM UNIVERSAL SETTINGS!As is now the case, with Printers & SoundCards - one can adjust basic settings, from within "standard interfaces" in windows.Before this, it was a very bed experience, to operate and Adjust Sound-Cards and Printers, within WIndows.and, I am puzzled, with this "lack of user-friendliness within windows"....- because I do see the "old well-known" image-settings window, within the webcam-SW for better webcams.- and, this "settings-window" is so old, that I remember it from back in 2002 - 20 years ago! It has not change

Setting up a webcam as the camera default

Hi Kevin

Method 1: If the Webcam is listed under Devices and printers, please follow the steps.

a. Press Windows key + R

b. Type: control printers

c. Hit Enter

d. Check if the Logitech webcam is listed.

e. Right click on Logitech webcam.

f. Click on Set this device as default.

Follow method 2 if webcam is not listed.

Method 2: What best we can do is we can disable the Internal webcam. You will be able to enable the webcam anytime you want.

Please follow the steps to disable HP Envy Webcam.

a. Press Windows + X, click Device Manager.

b. Click Imaging devices.

c. Right click on webcam.

d. Click Disable.

Brother continues to support the the hybrid workforce, adding additional printing devices to the list of Universal Print ready devices. devices provide the flexibility and scalability to address diverse workplace needs, supporting Universal Print customers in their journey to the digital workplace.

Canon is the first manufacturer to releases Universal Print ready printers, and has an extensive set of printers available today. Canon releases models with native support for Universal Print at a consistent pace and more are expected throughout this year. Keep an eye on their listing for existing and new models on their lists.

HP will soon release their new ‘HP for Universal Print’ Workpath app, that delivers integration with Universal Print on all printing devices that support Workpath. The HP for Universal Print Workpath app modernizes the print experience to give users simple, driverless printing. Their target release date is summer 2021.

Konica Minolta MFPs integrate with the Microsoft 365 environment, so companies can reduce print-related costs and experience an improved printing experience and increased productivity. See the Konica Minolta list of Universal Print ready printers here.

Kyocera is expected to release their first set of Universal Print ready printers by late summer and more in early fall 2021.

Lexmark is one of the first printer manufacturers to integrate their firmware with Universal Print. The company’s portfolio includes reliable multi-function printers and printers, many of them support Universal Print natively. Ricoh is actively developing the Smart Operation Panel application for native integration with Universal Print. Keep an eye on their listing for the latest releases.

Toshiba has recently published their list of integrated printers certified to work with Universal Print. Native Universal Print support on these devices will be available soon.

Xerox will be releasing firmware updates to add Universal Print support to select models, including the AltaLink 8100 Series of MFP devices, in Fall 2021 with additional models becoming available at a future date.

usb plug and play streaming webcam unable to set as default in Windows 10

Hi lowtechie,

Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Try this steps first to troubleshoot the problem.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

- Type ‘Troubleshooting’ in the search bar and press Enter.

- Click on ‘View all’ on the left panel of the ‘Troubleshooting’ window.

- Click on ‘Hardware and Devices' and follow on the screen instruction.

Method 2: Check your USB Driver

- Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

- Expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers” and right-click on the drive.

- Select Properties and check, if the device is working properly under Device Status.

If the device isn’t working properly, there will be an error listed with a yellow exclamation mark. Please do this steps

- Click on Windows key + X and then, select Device Manager.

- Locate and expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers” in the Device Manager Window.

- Right-click on the “Universal Serial Bus controllers” and click on “uninstall".

- Restart the computer and check, if it works.

Also to set default your camera once it is listed in your device and printer.

- Press the Windows + X button.

- Select Control Panel.

- Click on Devices and Printers.

- Check that the webcam is listed.

- Right-click on the webcam.

- Click on Set this device as default.
