Windows 10: Webcams: Installing Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000

I am running Windows 10 current and want to install a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 webcam "new" very old.

I understand the Win10 is incompatible with a lot of older webcams.

Cam I damage my Win10 if I try to install and test the included install disk drivers? Thanks for any help. Roger.

It worked for me and other LifeCam users. Hope you have success.

I found the following webpage very helpful, it provided the installation files for the Lifecam VX-3000.

Follow the directions.

Unfortunately this is only the driver, cannot get the software to load at all.

John Ado, may it be explained to me and thousand of Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 owners who now find that their webcam hardware, produced by Microsoft, is no longer compatible on the latest version of Microsoft Windows operating system. To now take the easy
way out to suggest that the user invest in new hardware, whereas the existing Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 was operating perfectly on the previous version of Windows, is not acceptable. You only need to read the comments on Microsoft Community and other chatrooms
to appreciate how many thousands of your loyal users are affected by the sheer lack of interest by Microsoft and to summarily stop support of their own hardware. Surely your software engineers can produce a driver/s that will allow the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000
to operate on the latest version of Windows. Microsoft owe it to their loyal users of their products to urgently address this problem. I look forward to your comments in this regard and what support your company will be offering to its many users.
