Unable to resolve external addresses internally

We have a Microsoft Active Directory DC network in multiple sites and all have resolving forwarders to each internal DC hosts locally on each site, and also added our ISP's recommended external DNS servers in the forwarders. The issue which I've inherited
so pls dont ask why its set up this way is our external company domain xyz.com (not a real name) is also the same as the internal domain name xyz.com where our users use to login in their computers, SSO, LDAP wireless, etc inside our network. So now when we
make an entry on the external DNS for our production services, like for example zoho.server.xyz.com is resolving externally just fine but when inside, we have to "MANUALLY" add these particular DNS entries in order to resolve its FQDN zoho.server.xyz.com
within the domain network. I'm hoping someone here can provide me some pointers on how I can approach on resolving this situation so for us to avoid manually entering these DNS inside our network. Let me know if you have questions and be happy to answer as

CNAME with different domain name on Windows DNS server

Hi there,

Hope there is someone can help me on this case.

I am facing a problem when create a CNAME in forward zone on our internal DNS.

Our primary domain is abc.com and have a developing domain abc-dev.com.

Both domain are existing in external DNS server, but abc.com only existing on internal DNS server.

Our developer is requesting to have a CNAME, uat.abc-dev.com, and can only be resolved internally.

I tried to create a new zone in internal DNS server which is abc-dev.com and added a CNAME uat. in there.

But this caused all other existing abc-dev.com URLs cannot be resolved internally.

Because CNAME cannot be the record as parent, I cannot create a forward zone named as uat.abc-dev.com.

I tried to add a forwarder, but it still does not work for resolving other abc-dev.com URLs.

Could you please let me know if there is a way to solve this problem?
