  1. weird artifacts and BSOD when trying to play a game but is fine on normal usage

hello it started around 2 weeks ago when i was playing destiny 2 and all of a suddenor my pc came to a halt and strange artifacts started to appear on my screen then id hear a little audio distortion and then my pc would completely freeze for like 6-8 seconds then would black screen and automatically restart as if nothing happened i was told it could be either my PSU GPU but there only 2 years old as well as that my PSU is apparently not a very high rated one but i'm not 100% sure on what i should do my PC specs are as follows

    intel i5 7600k 3.80ghz

nvidia gtx 1080 not overclocked zotac edition 8gb

    16gb DDR4 corsair vengeance LPX ram 3000mhz

    ASUS Z270-A pro mother board

    samsung evo 860 500gb SSD

cooler master master watt lite 600w power supply

i found something strange aswell if i use msi afterburner to turn my power limit down i can game for around 6x longer than not turning it down also my temps are fine dont go over 67 degrees either ive done a ram test and hard drive test i cant possibly see the fact that my VRAM is dying because its 2 years old and ive never overclocked also my power supply is 80+ witch is the lowest score im stuck on options coz i dont wanna get a new PSU for that not to work and vice versa

thank you all for any help ill get back to u asap <3 sorry for my username xD its from 10 years ago

    :)

    Hi Jackson,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

Please share the information requested below:

    • Does the BSOD occur while playing a particular game?
    • Is the game downloaded from Windows Store?

    • Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update.

    Weird BSOD problem

    Hi Everyone,

I have a weird BSOD problem which I cannot solve for a while(it persists still after upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7)

The main strange thing about this is that I get BSOD only after cold boot.
    So it acts like this:

    1. start PC.
    2. Get to Windows Logo Screen
    3. BSOD
    4. Restart
    5. Get to menu where I can try to repair or Start NormallyIf I Choose Repair, it will fail to repair and will try to restoreIf I Choose Start Normally, it will start OK, no BSOD, can work normally, games, browse internet, everything is normal.6. Shutdown PC
    7. Next time when I start is all over again i.e. Go to Step 1

I have this problem for a while, so what I tried:
    1. Another Windows 7
    2. Another HDD
    3. Only HDD connected
    4. Changed RAM
    5. Tried with built in GPU
    6. Upgraded to Windows 10

Result is the same as above every time.

Please suggest what could be the cause.
    Logs collected with DM_Log_Collector, attached.

    Thank you

PS. This thread is a continuation of this one: Frequent multiple errors BSOD. Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums the only thing changed is Windows 10 now. instead of Windows 7. If that helps somehow.

weird artifacts and BSOD when trying to play a game but is fine on normal usage

HD7930 Artifacts + BSOD, now fine

All I was doing was scrolling on bgp.he.net in Chrome and on a Skype call.
I updated driver about a week ago to latest.
Got some weird artifacts looked more like the graphics memory type. Then screen went black then computer BSOD. I rebooted and now it's fine. 10 minutes of FurMark ended up in temps right under 80C which is fine.
I am referring to PowerColor 7870XT.

Is it broken or just a driver issue?
