    Weird audio issues

Hi, I was really hoping people here could figure out what my exact problem is and how it can be solved. A quite lengthy text is incoming, I'm apologizing for it in advance.

Ever since I got this notebook I've been having a few issues with my audio. Most of the time it's working perfectly fine for me, but there are certain cases where it'll just sort of "break":

    1. I'm often using headsets. Everytime I leave a headset plugged in when I shut down my notebook and unplug it while the notebook is turned off, my speakers won't play any sort of sounds the next time the notebook is turned back on. No Windows sounds, no music, no audio from Youtube videos, nothing. The thing is, volume mixer shows me there is supposed to be audio playing.

This can actually be resolved quite easily by me plugging in a headset again and either continuing to listen to the audio with the headset on or simply unplugging it again - somehow magically, the speakers will play sound again. Another method that helps is rebooting my notebook. But it's really bothersome sometimes having to do this just to make it work.
I also often try to solve this issue by clicking on "troubleshoot sound problems". There's usually three possible solutions that windows comes up with: a. they didn't detect any problems, b. they found a problem and fixed it, just telling me to reboot my notebook (it does fix it but only temporarily until it reoccures a next time) and c. they occasionally try to do tests with me by playing sound but all for vain, drivers don't appear to be the problem (I've already checked for updates and tried uninstalling the drivers etc).

    2. This second issue is really obnoxious as it is also very unpredictable when it might happen. I'll be listening to music, stream a series or a movie, play a game or be in a voice call (usually on Discord), maybe combine a few of those. Then, with a certain probability, when I'm changing the volume of the notebook (regardless of whether I'm using a headset or listening through speakers), the sound just breaks again. I don't hear my friends in the voice call anymore, the game's music vanished, funnily the video or movie I'm watching will pause, but when continued will not play sound. I'll have to leave the call and re-enter, restart the game and also refresh the video's page or whatsoever. Either doing this or rebooting my notebook will fix this issue, but it is really, really tiring having to do all of this when the issue occurs on a daily basis, sometimes several times in one sit. Though being very similar to issue #1, this one here can't be solved by unplugging and or plugging back in a headset.

I really appreciate any sort of help and suggestions, I'm starting to get really desperate about this.

    :)

  3. Weird issue with sounds

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand it can be quite annoying when you have to change audio settings frequently. The volume of the audio might reduce automatically, if Loudness Equalization is enabled in audio enhancements.

    1. Is the issue specific to YouTube application?
    2. Since when are you facing this issue?

I suggest you to follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
Disable the Loudness Equalization from audio enhancements settings.

    1. Right-click on the volume icon on the taskbar.
    2. Select Sounds option from the list.
    3. Click on the Playback tab.
    4. Now right-click on the Speakers and select
      Properties from the list.
    5. Click on the Enhancements tab.
    6. Uncheck Loudness Equalization option.

Also, change the option under communication tab from sound settings. Follow steps mentioned below:

    1. Right-click on the volume icon on the taskbar.
    2. Select ‘Sounds’ option from the list.
    3. Now click on the ‘Communications’ tab.
    4. Select ‘Do nothing’ options from the list.

Method 2: If you still face the issue, we can try running the
Audio Troubleshooter. Follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Tap on ‘Windows + I’ on the keyboard.
    2. Click on ‘Update & Security’ option.
    3. Select ‘Troubleshoot’ option.
    4. Now click on the ‘Playing Audio’ from the list and ‘Run the troubleshooter’.

    Hope it helps.

    Weird audio issues

    Audio weird?

    Hi Jeriko,

If you're experiencing Sound issues in Windows 10, I suggest that you run the
    Audio troubleshooter
as an initial troubleshooting. Since you haven't tried it yet according to your post, please try it by following the steps here on this
article. There are further troubleshooting steps there and I advise that you follow them through if the Audio troubleshooter
    doesn't help.

Also, according to your edits on on your post, it seems that the issue is with your Motherboard or Sound card (depending on where the front audio IO panel is connected). There is an option in the BIOS setting to enable the Onboard HD Audio Front Panel. However,
I highly recommend to get assistance from your Motherboard's or PC's manufacturer with this as wrongfully tinkering with the BIOS can give inconveniences.

Update me if there are improvements.
