Windows 10: Weird box and shading on desktop - can anyone tell me what this is?

This may be a long shot, but does anyone know what this purple box in the top middle of the screen is? https://i.imgur.com/vG6BR6D.jpg



It sometimes pops up, and the purple box stays on top of whatever window or desktop I have active. I can't find any way to get rid of it, and it doesn't seem to correlate with me opening any programs. It doesn't respond to right or left clicking either. I noticed when it pops up, the desktop has a shade over half of it. It will eventually disappear, but again I have no idea why it goes.

Shading in boxes

When creating a new document I have a very light shading in picture boxes, word art or text boxes, even though I have indicated that I want no background. Is there a way to remove this?

 

Cheap Photo box that will get the job done

WEll i took on this project for PP hes a hardware reviewer and wants to get the professional looking pics for the Pc parts

Materials:

• Big cardboard box

• a razor

• white material 3 yards

• cone lights

• stapler

• medical tape

• pvc pipe about 6 inches longer than your box

• white paint any cheap finger paint would work

the project I'm guessing will cost me $30 if it works out properly
I will post pictures and step by step as i do it
