Windows 10: Weird drive appeared in my optimize drives but not in my partition manager

I just installed a new SSD, and so I opened my optimize drive app, to defrag my hard drives, but I noticed there was a drive labeled "\\?\Volume{141b765e-6a19-5ff6d9588-e2a5a29cae88}\", and it isn't showing up in my drive partition manager, I was wondering if there is a way to inspect of find this drive from the optimize drive app or some other way? or where this might be coming from?

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Partition or multiple hard drives?

As the title suggests. Is it worth installing say a 36GB drive for the OS soley or partitioning an existing larger drive with either 2 or more partitions? I am currently running Vista 32bit and want to try out 64bit and am sick of reformatting the whole drive. Any suggestions?

Based on the information you have provided in your post; we need to do further investigation. To assist you better, we'd like to know the following:

• Have you tried using a third party software to manage the disk partition?
• Did you format the drive?

We suggest that you check for the drive in the Disk Management and look if it appears. Follow these steps:

• Log on as administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
• Press Windows+R key and type diskmgmt.msc and then click OK.

Look if the Drive F: appears and check if it is unallocated.
