Windows 10: Weird Error while trying to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2019 - 2022

I'm having this problem while I'm trying to install VCRedist 2019 - 2022 specifically. And this error screws me up a lot because most of the programs / games I use or play need this to be installed so it can actually run. I've tried a lot of fixes about this problem but all of them are different from mine and I don't know what to do. It pops up in the middle of the installation in its own window saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'vc_runtimeMini

Once the Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable is installed and your laptop is restarted, try installing VirtualBox again. Go to the VirtualBox website, download the installer for Windows hosts, and run it. The error message regarding the missing Microsoft Visual C++ package should no longer appear.

If you still encounter some issues, make sure you have downloaded the correct version (x86 or x64) of the Visual C++ Redistributable that matches your system type.

 

Cannot install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022

I was able to fix this in quite a few computers by doing the following:

1. First make sure all VC++ redistributable packages from 2015 onwards were uninstalled.
   
2. Open "regedit" and navigate to "Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products"
   
   1. Search within all the child keys that have a product name of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015...", "Microsoft Visual C++ 2019...", "Microsoft Visual C++ 2022...", etc.
      
   2. If you are having trouble with just the x64 version then you don't need to uninstall the x86 and its registry keys.
      
3. Try to install it again, it should work.

Method 1: Reset components



We can try resetting the Windows components and see if that helps.

1. Type command prompt in the search bar on the Taskbar.
   
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and select Run as administrator.
   
3. Type or paste the command and hit enter:
   
   net stop wuauserv
   
   net stop cryptSvc
   
   net stop bits
   
   net stop msiserver
   
   ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
   
   ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
   
   net start wuauserv
   
   net start cryptSvc
   
   net start bits
   
   net start msiserver
   
4. Close command prompt window.
   

Method 2: Remove Visual C++ and reinstall



I would also suggest you to check if Visual C++ is already installed. To check type appwiz.cpl in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit Enter. If Visual C++ is already installed, I would suggest you to try uninstalling it and then installing it. To
uninstall Visual C++, refer the section Uninstall from the Control Panel (for programs)
under Uninstall or remove apps and programs in the article

Repair or remove programs in Windows 10.



Method 3: Run DISM Command



You may also want to try running the DISM command and see if that helps.

in Windows 10.
