  1. Weird Glitch with External Display

Any idea why my external display LG C2 TV boots up like this almost every time. But when I restart the laptop it boots up normally. So it’s not a hardware issue. But it happens almost every time I boot up the laptop and switch to HDMI 3 the one connected to the laptop. As soon as I then restart the laptop again it boots up normally. Then stays normal…until I shut down the laptop, go do other things, come back boot up the laptop and same thing happens again. Restart laptop again and voila back to normal! FYI I have it set to 1920x1080 resolution RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.Issue: see attache

  2. Second External Display Sporadically Failing to Display

    Hi,

I have come across a weird glitch that I am curious to know if any others have had this happen. There are multiple factors at play and I can't seem to deduce which is causing this weird glitch and if there is another way to fix it than the work around I have found.

My users at my organization sporadically have problems with their second external monitor failing to display. When this has happened, there have been no changes to my user's devices from the last time they logged in. My users exclusively use Lenovo laptops/workstations and have a USB-C hub that grants extra HDMI outlets in order to connect additional displays. Our organization also uses GCPW (Google Credential Provider for Windows) that we use to login to our laptops/workstations. The monitor that is plugged directly into the laptop's HDMI port always displays, but the HDMI in the USB-C fails to display (as well as anything else attached to the USB-C) hub. I have troubleshot this with many steps including:

    • Rebooting the device
    • Unplugging all HDMI's and USB-C hubs from the device and reinserting them
    • Updating display drivers/USB-C drivers
    • Switching which USB-C port the hub is inserted in
The only thing I have done that seems to fix this is by logging into a separate user account on the laptop/workstation. As soon as that is done, the second monitor displays and then I can go back to the original account and everything is fine with the displays. This is just so weird and I can't figure out if it's a Windows 10 glitch, GCPW, or the USB-C hub itself. Anyone else out there experience this? Any known solutions?

    Projecting to an external display

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Windows 10.

I understand that you are unable to use external display with windows 10.

This usually occurs if the video driver was not installed properly or not configured correctly.so I would suggest you to reinstall the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and see if it helps:

    Uninstall Display Adapter drivers

I suggest you to uninstall the display drivers and reinstall them in compatibility mode.

To uninstall the driver, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + R
    • Type devmgmt.msc
    • Right click on the driver you want to uninstall
    • Click on Uninstall
    • Restart the system
After the computer restarts, install the driver in compatibility mode.

    • Select the setup file
    • Right click on it and click on
      properties
    • Click on Compatibility tab
    • Select the operating system
    • Click Ok.
Hope it helps, do get back to us if you need further assistance with Windows.

    Weird Glitch with External Display

    Main & external displays switched

Yes, but I don't have my main display the external display - ever. There was no rhyme nor reason for yesterday's glitch. At least it is not screwed up now. Thanks, again.
