Windows 10: Weird keyboard behavior

When I pressed - key it becomes backspace too, when I pressed : key it clicks enter too, when I pressed ? key clicks Shift too. Anyone can please help me? I suspect it's something to do with Fn key shortcut but searching online doesn't give any clues.I tried uninstalling Keyboard devices, updating and even rollback, I also tried switching between keyboard languages, for some reason built in keyboard works properly.

Weird keyboard behavior (Ubuntu only)

I have the G-LAB Keyz 200 N keyboard connected to a notebook with a dual-boot Ubuntu 16.04 / Windows 10 Pro.

It has a weird behavior when used in Ubuntu: Both left and right CTRL, Windows and ALT all behave like SHIFT thus making it impossible to use, among others, the editing functions shortcuts.

Troubleshhoting:

• It works fine, like any other keyboard, in Windows 10.
  
• The internal keyboard works fine in Ubuntu and Windows.
  
• Tested the keyboard in another PC running Ubuntu 18.04 and it again showed the same behavior.
  

I've googled a lot but couldn't find anything even remotely similar to the problem I'm having. The troubleshooting above seems to indicate there's no hardware problem - the internal keyboard works fine in both OSes and the external one works correctly in Windows 10 only. So the problem seems to be specific to this keyboard in Ubuntu.

What can be causing this weird behavior and is there any workaround? Suggestions for further troubleshooting are welcome.

Now googling by the hardware identifier 1c4f:0056 SiGma Micro I did found others with the same exact problem - but apparently unsolved - :

Here are the results for lsusb -v -d 1c4f:0056 just in case someone can spot what makes this keyboard "special"...

The problem is probably with the keyboard.

To confirm this, I suggest testing this keyboard on another device and see if the same behavior will occur.

If it's an internal laptop keyboard. Test with an external USB keyboard and see if the same behavior will occur.

Windows 10 pinyin keyboard weird behavior

I'm not sure if you have done this already, but we can try to disable auto-correction in Pinyin keyboard layout from Windows settings.

Kindly do the following:

1. Open Windows Settings > Time & language > Keyboard.
   
2. Select Chinese Pinyin in the list and click the Options button.
   
3. Under the Touch keyboard section, untick the box for "Autocorrect misspelled words as I type".
   
4. Observe the problem to see if still happening.
   
5. Should you want to enable it back, you can do the same steps.
   

If you are using a physical keyboard to type, you can do the following instead:

1. Open Windows Settings > Devices > Typing.
   
2. Under Hardware keyboard, toggle these buttons to turn off:
   
   
   
   
   
3. Observe the problem to see if still happening.
