Weird registry key that could potentially be malware, but all the results are really old on...

I was snooping around in my registry as per usual and i found two registry keys that stuck out to me, dbrowprx.asproxy and dbrstprx.asproxy and also a whole bunch of registry keys with the same names but labeled 1, 2, etc. I did a quick google search and it showed me results of nothing but malware reports and forum posts from around 2010.

  2. Help with malware registry key

    Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble removing the “DrearyCoroEconomics” registry key. Here are some steps you can try to remove malware from your Windows PC:

Use Windows Security to scan your PC. Windows Security is a powerful scanning tool that finds and removes malware from your PC.

    - Here’s how to use it in Windows 10 to scan your PC:

    1. Before you use Windows Defender Offline, make sure to save any open files and close apps and programs.
      1. Open your Windows Security settings.
      2. Select Virus & threat protection > Scan options.
      3. Select Windows Defender Offline scan, and then select Scan now.
      4. The Windows Defender Offline scan takes about 15 minutes to run, and then your PC will restart.

        - View the results of your scan:
        1. Open your Windows Security settings.
        2. Select Virus & threat protection > Protection history.
        3. The Windows Defender Offline scan will automatically detect and remove or quarantine malware.
If the above steps do not work, please let me know.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Weird Registry Key

There's a registry key called "tmp_auto_file". I'm unaware if this is a windows registry key, and it's not a product of anything I intentionally installed. I know this because another computer that has all my same apps and games does not have the key at all, and I looked at another one that doesn't have any of the same things (besides steam) and same result. Could someone please help me figure out what this is? I haven't been to any weird websites, and the key is located in HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-119954552-4196419553-4271603927-1001_Classes\tmp_auto_file. I also ran Malwarebytes and it found nothing.

Edit: I've seen other registry keys like this installed from other games but I have very few games on my PC right now and they do not create the key when ran.

    Modded Registry. Want Old Back....

    did you try this

    To restore the registry
    Open Registry Editor.
Click Options, and then click Print to print these instructions. (If you are using the Help and Support Center, click Print above the topic area.) They will not be available after you shut down your computer in step 2.
Click Start, and then click Shut Down.
In the list, click Restart, and then click OK.
When you see the message Please select the operating system to start, press F8.
Use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.
NUM LOCK must be off before the arrow keys on the numeric keypad will function.

Use the arrow keys to highlight an operating system, and then press ENTER.
    Caution

Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on your computer.
    Notes

To open Registry Editor, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Choosing Last Known Good Configuration provides a way to recover from problems such as a newly added driver that may be incorrect for your hardware. It does not solve problems caused by corrupted or missing drivers or files.
When you choose Last Known Good Configuration, Windows restores information in registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet only. Any changes you have made in other registry keys remain.
