Weird Win+Up behavior in Windows 10

Normally, when you press Win+Up, it maximizes the current window. But in Windows 10, it sometimes does something else instead.

    Here's a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/WH9xv8w.png

It happens when I have Chrome in a non-maximized window (the kind you get to with Restore Down). When I press Win+Up, it moves the Chrome window to the right half of the screen and fills up the left half of the screen with images of the open programs (it sort of looks like Task View). That's what you see in the screenshot.

At this point, the only way I know how to maximize the Chrome window is to press Alt+Tab to get control of Chrome, press Win+Up again (which forces Chrome into the upper right quadrant of the screen), and then press Win+Up a third time (which finally maximizes Chrome).

Does anyone know what's going on here? Is there a way I can put a stop to this behavior, and have Win+Up just maximize the current window like normal? Thanks!

  2. Weird behavior in sleep mode in windows 10

    Hi

I am using Windows 10 I face weird behavior when using the sleep mode here are the steps:

    1. Connect PC to wireless network from mobile phone (iPhone).

    2. Go to sleep mode from windows.

    3. Turn off the hot spot from mobile.

Result: the PC started right away (wake up from sleep mode).

Expected result: PC should remain in sleep mode.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Weird Win+Up behavior in Windows 10

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
