  1. Weird windows behaviour, like if it logged into a new user by itself !!

The weirdest thing happened today, I turned my Asus off, disconnected everything and took it to a friends house, when I turned it on it went straight into windows without requesting a password and as it finished loading I noticed everything was different, it was as if it had reset itself to factory settings on its own !!! gone was my wallpaper, all my settings and everything that I had removed was there, like cortana en edge, everything was different, i panicked for a second and pressed start and saw my user pic there, my apps and games were still there but no shortcuts, so I just decided to do the old, restart the pc and hope that everything fixes itself trick, and it worked, everything was back to normal.

Still I am really curious as to what happened, could I have been hijacked by a virus, is there a hidden second user in my ONE user laptop ? I don't have a clue, I did run Defender and Malwarebytes and they found a few trojans and coinminers and were removed, any ideas would surely be appreciated, btw I'm running Windows 10 Pro on an Asus x555lj.

    :)

  2. New Account/User Issues

    Hi,

When you create a new user account, Windows uses the Default user profile as a template to construct the files for the newly created user account. You might be experiencing issues creating new accounts due to a corrupt Default profile. To
resolve the issue, we suggest reinstating the Default folder in the
Users directory by following these steps:

    • Log in as an administrator.
    • Open the C:\Users folder using Windows Explorer.
    • Rename the Default user profile folder to Default.OLD.
    • Download a zip of C:\Users\Default from a Windows 10 installation that doesn't have this problem.
    • Unzip the non-corrupt Default profile into C:\Users.
    • Try logging in to the new user account and check if the problem is resolved.

Let us know how it turns out.
