    Western Digital My Book 1230 External Drive Not Recognized


    Ok I have googled and tried tons of suggestions for a solution and nothing has worked. My WD External HD makes the connecting noise when I plug it in, but doesn't show up in My Computer.It is in Device Manager, but not Disk Management it showed up once there but I couldn't do anything with it.It shows up in Devices and Printers, but when I click on it I get a "not responding" windows error and then it just stops and nothing happens.In EaseUSDataRecovery Wizard, IF it shows up, it says "lost partition." It doesn't find anything and just keeps saying it's disconnected.Sometimes I hear it disco

    After doing a clean install of windows 10 build 10130; my western digital my book 1tb external usb 3.0 hard drive will not retrieve my backups. Is this a possible windows 10 glitch; or is this a internal hardware issue with my device?

    Windows 10 does not recognize western digital My passport Ultra external hard drive

    I have a western digital My passport P/N WDBACKX00BBK-00 S/N WXE1S5605 external hard drive . Windows 10 does not recognize the device.
    How do I get windows 10 tom recognize the hard drive?. I've done what it was suggested, it did not work at all.

    thanks in advance for your help. i have also tried it in other pcs. with windows 7 and windows 10.

    I Use My Book Drives for keeping files that I don't want on my computer. So I'm always accessing them for a short time. I don't mind having to unlock them to store my files. I have always wanted to Lock the Drive after I access them. Can I Manually lock My Western Digital "My Book" drive after it's unlocked
