Windows 10: "We've Got An Update For You" Prompt

Hello, Microsoft Team.I received this morning a prompt that says "we've got an update for you-- Windows is continuously improving, and updates are a normal part of keeping it running smoothly. We'll restart and install this update at 9:42 AM. Or, you can restart now if you're ready." It then gives me the following three buttons to choose from: "Restart now," "Another time," and "OK."I was given this prompt twice-- the first time I clicked "Another time," and then the prompt showed up almost a minute later asking the same thing. Granted I hadn't touched my laptop in a few minutes since the firs

i ve tried everything:with atiflash from dos,winflash.step by step with bios powercolor hd 6970 from the database.
nothing,doesn´t work.any suggestion????

 

Installation media boots to command prompt

I've just booted from known working install media to see exactly what it does when booting. The sequence of events is...

1. Windows logo on a black screen
2. circling dots appear beneath the logo
3. light blue 'Please wait' screen with circling dots
4. a command prompt window (very briefly)
5. the initial Setup page appears

Do you see steps 1-3? If so, it appears you have stopped at step 4, suggesting that something on the disc cannot be read.

Does the disc boot properly in another machine? If so, try cleaning the laptop's drive lens then try booting from the disc again.

If not, make new install media with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, either as a bootable USB, on an ISO that you can burn to another disc. At Step 8 in Option One of this tutorial you can choose between making a USB or an ISO.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
