Windows 10: WF-1000XM4 Microphone not detected on Windows 11

Hi,I own a WF-1000XM4. I have been trying to connect the device to my Windows 11 computer. However, it is only being detected as an audio output device. After following countless forms and possible solutions, I believe this is because my WF-1000XM4 is in the Headphone profile instead of the Headset profile. From what I understand, Windows 11 handles the profile selection automatically. I haven't been successful in changing to the Headset profile.Things I have TriedOne of the things I've found is un-checking the "Handsfree Telephony" service under device properties to force windows to use the H

Bluetooth Audio Output/Input for Sony WH-1000XM4 Not Working

I have the same problem with Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones with my Windows 11 PC. It was working all fine and suddenly stopped working.

The device connects via bluetooth and is detected by the PC, the sound is coming fine, but its not enabling the microphone.

1. Checked all microphone settings to ensure those are enabled.
   
2. The headphone works fine on other devices - so no problem with the headphone itself
   
3. I have already reset the headphone and paired from scratch - still the problem is not resolved
   
4. Updated all the drivers - still the problem is not resolved.
   
5. I tested a different bluetooth headphones with the PC and it works fine.
   

So the problem is specific to Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones with Windows 11 PC and it started happening after an update around late April.

 

Microphone not detected

I've run it, it says the problem was 'Generic audio driver'. But I don't actually feel any problems on playing audios. My problem was about external microphones not detected, this laptop wont detect any external microphones
plugged in, it will always use the internal microphone. I've done the troubleshoot (recording audio) and the troubleshoot said they can't detect the problem.
