What apps do I must have to keep windows running properly?

Recently I installed Windows on a virtual machine, and it seems to have a lot of programs around that I don't really use. So which programs are really necessary for Windows? I've uninstalled a lot of apps from it already, like Your phone, Xbox and Paint. All that's left is a browser not edge, although I used it to install the other browser, file explorer, settings, windows security, and some windows system, administrative tools and PowerShell. So is this all you need on a windows computer? Also plus ease of access.

    :)

  2. apps not work'ng properly

    Hello,

For us to better assist you, we'd like to know the following:

    • Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:
    • Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
    • Click OK.
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • Kindly send us a screenshot of the said issue.

Meanwhile, let's troubleshoot the issue by performing the steps below:

    Run Windows built-in troubleshooter

This troubleshooter automatically diagnoses and repairs common problem that may prevent Windows Store Apps from working properly. We recommend running the Windows app troubleshooter on this article.

Furthermore, check for the presence of C:\Windows\AppReadiness - if it doesn't exist, create it. (More accurately, check for %windir%/AppReadiness).

We look forward to your response.

    Regards.

  3. App Runs Properly but Win10Pro Task Scheduler Cannot Run It

We have a requirement for extremely accurate computer clock time and use a small app that that, when launched, checks with a pool of time servers and syncs our computer clock. We want to schedule this app to run every couple of hours.

The app runs properly when I launch it manually. I created a task in Task Scheduler to do this automatically every two hours and, when I manually run the task within Task Scheduler, it also runs properly. However, it will not run on on its own on a schedule.
Task Scheduler fails to launch it.

On a different computer, another app is able to launch it when that app is launched but, again, Task Scheduler fails to launch it on a schedule.

The task is configured in Task Scheduler as follows:

    GENERAL

    • When running the task, use the following user account: it's my own account, and I am an Administrator on the computer
    • Run only when user is logged on
    • Run with highest privileges
    • Configure for Windows 10
    TRIGGERS

    • Trigger: At task creation/modification
    • Repeat every 2 hours for a duration of indefinitely
    • Enabled
    ACTIONS

    • Start a program "path...\SysTimeUpdate.exe" min ('min' being an argument)
    CONDITIONS

    • none - no conditions
    SETTINGS

    • Allow task to be run on demand
    • Run task as soon as possible after a schedules start is missed
    • Stop the task if it runs longer than 1 hour
    • If the running task does not end when requested, force it to stop
    • If the task is already running, then the following rule applies - Stop the existing instance

Someone suggested that my Administrator account may not have full privileges, and it may be a permissions issue but, if so, why can I launch it manually and why can another app launch it when that app is launched but Task Scheduler cannot? This very very
baffling, and any assistance would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

  4. What apps do I must have to keep windows running properly?

Windows 10 Photos app doesn't run.

    Hi,

Incompatible software installed in your PC can conflict with Windows apps and cause performance issues. We can suggest several troubleshooting steps to isolate and resolve the issue. As an initial recommendation, you can run the

    Windows app troubleshooter
. This will identify the cause of the issue and provide you further suggestions for troubleshooting steps.

If the issue persists, you can uninstall the Photos app and reinstall it by doing the steps below:

    • Type Windows PowerShell in the search box at the taksbar.
    • In the search results, right click on Windows PowerShell and
      Run as administrator.
    • On the Powershell prompt, type: get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage.
    • Press Enter.
    • Once uninstalled, you can reinstall the app from this
      link
      .

Let us know if the suggestions above worked for you.
