Windows 10: What are advance parental control can i set up for my nephews computer

Hello I have two nephew where i decided to buy them each a computer build. This is for them to earn something online and little bit of entertainment.


The problem though is one of them has a gaming addiction serious one, this might result in him to just keep playing not work anymore. The other one though is we trust to be responsible, but will also place measure on his computer so they cant just swap computers.


I dont want to take away their freedom during their free time. I just want that during the specified time they will work or atleast they cant do anthying other than work . Both of them are skilledand bold enough to reformat a computer so OS level of control is not enough.


I know that it is impossible to fully protect the system since they have access to both hardware and software. But i will make it hard for them, so that a really serious attempt is necessary, where we can then have a good ground for an intervention.


Aside from bios password. What can i do in windows to prevent access to programs or even all IP address exept n. Syskey is being removed by windows so i cant use that to protect the settings.


Note: The computers have already been bought except for the OS, The plan is to buy them each a separate key. But if that is not the best approach please do tell me

Parental Controls aren't working

Hi,

The issue could be because of corrupted files. I suggest you to delete the corrupted files yourself and see if it helps

to resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

1) Make sure your children are signed out of any monitored accounts.

2) Sign in with an administrator account and find the folder that contains the corrupted files.

There are two ways to do this. The easiest way is to enter the complete file path:

• 
  On the Start screen, type C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls and press Enter.
  

• 
  If you’d rather open each folder individually, follow these steps:
  

a. Go to This PC

b. Open C:, open the
ProgramData folder, open the Microsoft folder, open the
Windows folder, and open the Parental Controls folder.

3) Delete all contents of the Parental Controls folder.

This will delete any corrupt files. Your settings will be downloaded again from familysafety.microsoft.com the next time you sign in.

• Go to the Control Panel from the Windows Start menu.
• Click User Accounts.
• Click Parental Controls.
• Click on your account photo.
• Choose Parental control off.

The steps provided works only if the user account has full access to the PC.
