Windows 10: What are my downloaded temporary files?

Doing a cleanup of my hard drive, and most of my storage space is in the downloads section of my temporary files. Are these safe to delete? Under it it says that theyre in my personal downloads folder, so delete them if i want to delete everything. (Just to be clear I dont want to reset my computer, and want to keep all my programmes and stuff)

Though the downloads temporary files will not show all in one folder, you can still safely delete temporary files manually. Below are the steps to delete temporary files the standard way.

• Type %temp% on Cortana and press Enter key to open the
  Temp folder containing temporary files.
• Select the folders or files you want to delete, then click the Delete
  key to delete all temporary files.

It is recommended that you move temporary files to Recycle Bin and permanently delete them after few days. This is for you to have the option to restore files if a program or Windows does not work properly after the deletion.

I would respond as follows:

1. No, I have not installed any third party applications to delete Temporary Internet Files or Temporary Files.

2. Yes, as mentioned in my message, I had chcked the relevant boxes for Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files before performing Disk Clean-up. But still the files won't delete.

Your suggestion is about deleting Browsing history. I don't have any issues with deleting Browsing history. It's about deleting Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files. Browsing history can be deleted via Internet Options or from the option available
in the Hub of Microsoft Edge.

Any help on how to delete Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files would be greatly appreciated.
