Windows 10: What are the symptoms of an expired "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate"

So I recently inherited an older Exchange 2013 Standard server fully patchedI noticed that the Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate has been expired for a long time.There are no complaints or any issues reported by the users but I have noticed a few things and I wonder if they are related.I know how to renew this certificate but I wonder if anyone knows what kind of symptoms you would see if such a certificate has expired?What I noticed myself is some users, not all, get a message that the server is unavailable if you want to set an Out of office replyI also noticed that in Outlook, so

Expired Microsoft Timestamp Root Certificate

  Out organization has Server 2012R2 Domain Controllers. We have been been getting dinged by Retina scans for some expired Certificates, among them Microsoft Timestamp Root, and Microsoft Authenticode(tm) Root. Some of them expired in 1999. Can these certificates
  be renewed or deleted without breaking something?

Security Certificate on Server not valid or expired???

I want to syn my Orange E650 with my work MS Exchange server. After I enter the Server credentials and press next I get the error message "You cannot log onto Microsoft exchange server because the security certificate on the server is not valid or has expired".
I've asked my IT department but they just keep telling me to get a Blackberry!!!
