Windows 10: What can stop an IP Address being set manually

I am trying to set a static IP address in Win10 to be 192.168.0.1. When I look through the settings app, it shows the correct address. When I check the adapter properties through control panel, it shows the correct address. However running ipconfig shows the actual address is 169.254.93.127. Setting to any other address seems to work as expected. The only thing I can think of that is different is that I tried to set the IP address to 192.168.0.1 initially before the cable was connected.How can I get this device onto the address I want please, I have tried doing a network reset from the setting

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.
