  1. What causes Windows 10 to recognize audio playback devices?

It doesn't recognize my default playback device until 20-30 minutes after I turn on my computer. When it finally does, I have audio. I'd like to know what exactly happens that allows Windows to suddenly do a 180 and acknowledge the existence of my device, that way I might be able to trigger the event manually so I don't have to wait so long.

I've already asked for help here and other places before, and I even opened a chat with a Microsoft employee who was unable to solve this problem, so believe me when I say no stone has been left unturned.

  2. Headphones not recognized in playback devices

    Hi Varmen,

We understand the issue you are facing and will assist you.

As the system is unable to recognize the headphones, I suggest you to follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and check if it helps.

This troubleshooter is an automated tool which checks for any common issues with the audio device and provides the detailed report of the device status.

    • Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and press Enter.
    • Click on View all in the left pane.
    • From the list, click on Playing Audio and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.

If the issue still persists, then try method 2.

Method 2: Uninstall the Sound drivers.

    • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
    • Select Sound, video and gaming controllers.
    • Uninstall the High definition audio driver
    • Restart the system.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.

Windows audio device graph isolation problem

    Hello,

Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation is an official part of Windows and serves as the primary audio engine in Windows 10. It handles the audio enhancement effects provided by Windows. If you are using any enhancements, we suggest that you disable them and
see if the sounds stops. You may disable your enhancements by following the steps below:

    • Right-click the Volume icon in the Taskbar.
    • Click Sounds.
    • From the Sound window, click the Playback tab, then select the device that you suspect is causing the issue.
    • Click Properties.
    • On the Enhancements tab, click the Disable all enhancements checkbox.
    • Click OK.

What causes Windows 10 to recognize audio playback devices?

How to separate audio outputs in playback devices

I installed realtek HD audio manager which gave me audio over HDMI to my TV. It recognizes that I have 2 audio devices plugged into analoge (green and black). I've tried different settings, setting both devices as front speakers and one as headphone but they continue to show as a single device (Speakers) in 'playback devices'. I know that it is possible to do this because I was about to swtich between output devices in 'playback devices' before resetting windows.

Looking at google images I see that realtek HD audio manager should have an extra tab 'HD Audio 2nd ouptut device' but I don't have it.
