What credentials to use when a service requires logon account?

I am running Windows 11 Home. I created a Microsoft account instead of a local one when setting up my computer. My backup software runs as a service. It needs account credentials from me to run. When I try to use my email associated with my Microsoft account and my password, I get an error. When I used to run under a local account under Windows 10, my local account credentials worked fine.

    :)

    Hiding user accounts

    Hi all,

So question for you, I have a machine, non-domain, windows 7 home prem. I have a tech account and a user account, when you get to windows logon, it shows tech profile there.is there a way to hide the tech profile from the logon screen...?Or make it so they have to type their credentials in manually to logon..?

obviously secpol or gpedit would be perfect for requiring control alt delete on logon in windows pro but on home prem i cant figure out a way.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Windows Network Credentials

    Hi Keith,

We suggest that you disable Credential Manager before mapping your Drives. Please follow these steps to disable Credential Manager:

    • In the search box type “Services
    • Right click on “Services” and select “Run as Administrator
    • In the Services Window, look for Credential Manager Service and click “Stop”.
    • Restart the computer and go back the Credential Manager Service and set it to “Automatic”.
    • Restart the computer again.

Please keep us updated if you were able to map your drives.
