Windows 10: What do i do when i try to open an extracted zip vile and it says, "You need an app for...

I tried to download an app off of itch.io, it was a zip file. The instructions told me to extract the file, so I did. Then I went to the app and tried to open it, but whenever I click on it, I get the pop-up "You need an app for this task". I tried to delete the file and download it again, to no prevail. What should I do? I'm on a windows 11.

Are the step-by-step processes identical? That is, the folder extracted from and the folder extracted to belong to the same hierarchical file system structure. If they are, that suggests mildly the Cumulative Update left an electron or two out of place.

Thanks pyramid10 for your contribution, I ensured that the steps taken and the source and destination folders were the same, in the using zip7 as suggested by BunnyJ resolved all issues for me.
I am the first to admit that I am a long long way from understanding the intricacies of computers and if truth be told I am now to old anyway to absorb much information.

Can't open Zip Files


When I click a zip file all the options are grayed out. If I right click I do not have an Extract option. If I click Send to Compressed (Zip ) folder it makes another copy in the same folder. What is the next step? How do I open zip this?
