What does one even do with a .NET "Web File" after downloading it?

*NOTICE* This conflict involves something to do with a 32-bit windows 7 enterprise edition, and not necessarily windows ten of my own home tower, I just made an account on Seven forums and something with their security Is preventing me from posting this issue there that I was hoping to write down quickly, so I'm writing it down here anyway.

So I'm trying to boot up this one program for reading/writing/extracting information on disks for my head instructor, but this one computer I'm working on is missing the correct version of ".Net" to where the program tells me to install the latest one, but the Microsoft site just gives me these "-.web" files that I don't know what to do with, or run on with to fix this issue, so I'm wondering where at least the file location would be on the C:\ drive usually would be so I can just override the file or something? I'm not sure particularly, but I'm going to have to install this manually, or if there Is an .exe that just does that for me, feel free to link me, thanks.

    :)

  3. unable to open zip folder from one drive

A problem with your connection or with the web server could cause the download to terminate abruptly. As I mentioned above, it's best to use a stand-alone download manager or even a browser-based one (such as

    DownThemAll! for Firefox
), especially for very large files.

I'm having trouble understanding what you are asking...and what you are running. If you have Windows 10, you shouldn't have to download and install .Net. You can do that from the Programs And Features screen, then clicking Turn Windows features on or off. You will see .Net there.

Ditto! If you have the entries as shown here you should be "good to go" although some specific programs may need version 4.0 or 4.5:

Every time I do a cleanup of clients' computers I get prompted to delete Version 1.0 and 1.1, probably too old to be useful.

OT: I just want to thank you both for telling how to get a needed .Net v2 for an old, old 32 bit program from XP I have, and haven't been able to use it 'cause it didn't have correct .Net.
Lurking pays off. Sorry for the hijack, but I just couldn't resist.

    Glad it helped you.

One does have to careful where one lurks, could result in dire consequences.
