    What does the folder with the green arrow pointing up mean?


    This question was asked last year and answered but the thread is now locked so I'm asking the same question because the answer given doesn't make sense to me. I've recently bought a new laptop which came with Windows 11. Now I have this green arrow thing on almost all of my folders in Explorer, and it was never there before. I thought it was perhaps related to OneDrive as I'm having issues with it, but the Microsoft Help guy assisting me with that problem tells me it's nothing to do with OneDrive. So, what is it? The previous answer said it was related to the navigation settings but this doesn

    If you're speaking of Microsoft Word documents, it means that changes are being synced to OneDrive.

    Since Oct. 2016 updates of Windows 10, desktop folders (which are not shortcuts) have shortcut arrows. Carbonite green dots are gone.

    Since the Oct. 2016 updates of Windows 10, desktop folders (which are not shortcuts) have shortcut arrows. The Carbonite green dots are no longer visible. Big problem for me. It is as though the Carbonite green dots have been replaced by shortcut arrows.
    Sometimes there is a gray X instead of the shortcut arrow. It seems to mean something is not backed up in Carbonite. I contacted Carbonite and they said it is not their problem, it is Microsoft's problem. Feels like it's my problem.
