In Device Manager,
Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller #2 and TP-LINK Wireless USB Adapter are listed,

but the rest of the three are not listed.


My question :

1. what does it mean of the rest of the three ? which are :

2. what does it mean "Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter" ?

and why it listed twice, which are :

Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #7

Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #8


3. what is the meaning of #2, #7, #8, #3, * 19, * 20, * 18 ?

I tried all of the suggestions but the issue was not resolved: I believe the issue is with windows rather than drivers because ipconfig is telling me that media state is disconnected.

PS: I just checked my brand new high end gaming laptop to find the same issue when I run ipconfig as administrator and tried the release/renew commands.

Media state................................: Media disconnected. (same as before)

Just tied ipconfig on a friends laptop and it has the same issue so I am sure it is a problem within windows. I suspect this means nearly everybody or at least most people have the same problem and microsoft should have a good look at the problem.

Windows sockets helps communicate between Windows network software and network services, such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

I would suggest you to try the steps below to reset the Winsock registry and check if it helps.

1. Type command prompt in the search bar.

2. Right click on command prompt and select "run as administrator".

3. At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:

  Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.

  Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
  
• 
  Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
  
• 
  Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
