In what case would I need to install the Virtual Machine Platform (found in - Turn Windows features on or off)? What is it good for?

 

Virtual Machine Platform in Windows 10 update 1809

Microsoft has introduced a new feature named "Virtual Machine Platform" in its new update 1809.

There are not any supports and documents which elaborate this feature.

What are the uses of this feature?

What benefits does it has as compared to other Virtual machines installed through internet etc.?

And how to use this feature?

For what purpose this feature can be used?

Windows 10 already includes native virtual machine support it’s called Hyper-V.

You do not need to use any third party apps if you want to use virtual machines on your Windows device.

Use of Virtual Machine Platform in Windows 10 update 1809 feature/purpose of the feature:

For MSIX packaging.

You can use the MSIX Packaging Tool to create an MSIX application package for an existing MSI or App-V installer on a Hyper-V virtual machine (VM). The VM must meet these requirements
