Windows 10: What drive replacement to buy for Samsung Ultra 5

Hi everybody,


my hard drive needs to be replaced on my Samsung Ultra 5 NP530U3C-A0EDE.

I attached pictures of the hard drive specs and need help on which drive to buy to switch out the old one. According to the specs its a hgst hts54505a7e380

I don't know much about hard drives but I need 500gb and it seems like it had an SSD to power windows.

It should not necessarily be an upgrade as the computer had several problems already and is over 6 years old, but I want to use it a bit more.

So what type can I buy that fits my Ultra5?

e.g.? HGST Travelstar Z5K500 HTS545050A7E680 Hard Disk - 500GB - 2.5 "- 5400 Rpm - SATA-600 - 8MB Cache ??

After Windows upgrade to 10, my Samsung Ultra Thin DVD writer Se-218BB does not work? Any suggestions on how to get it to work?

thats what it should read, with the price of current offerings Ultra_Expensive is what it will be, but definately a step in the right direction as far as development is concerned

i cant see ssd being mainstream for AT LEAST another 5-10 years

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
