Windows 10: What else do I need for my first build?

First time builder. First time Windows user. First into the fire... All of my components have been ordered and several have arrived. (I'll admit, I'm starting to get excited). I'm also getting nervous. I'm trying to round-up all of the little fiddly-bits I'll need for the build that experience builders find so basic, they don't think they are worth mentioning. So far I've collected: Lithium Battery Thermal Paste Small cable ties Thumb drive for Windows install Surge protecter Multi-screwdriver with magnetic tip What am I missing? Do you have a tips or tricks to go along with any of these? I'm in a "I don't know what I don't know situation" so any and all help will be appreciated. Nothing is too basic. Thanks,

is it possible to hand build a motherboard?

Might I suggest you simply build a computer, making notes and taking pictures step by step. Most people (probably including your teacher) have no idea even where to start building a computer. You'll do fine, and if you get stuck we're here to help ya out! *Toast :toast:

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
