Windows 10: What exactly does changing a password with control pannel remove

I was going through those apps like command prompt and using it for the msg * function when I found control panel. I noticed that I could change passwords without knowing them. I noticed that the text says that the user will lose all EFS-encrypted files, personal certificates, and stored passwords. I have a few questions about the specifics on this.1-What are EFS-encrypted files?2-What uses EFS-encrypted files. Will I lose data on applications like steam or opera GX?3-Will I be signed out of applications like steam or websites like steam on browser.4-Will any files per permanently lost. E.G. m

cannot change password using command prompt it says "The system is not authoritative for the specified account and therefore cannot complete the operation. Please retry the operation using the provider associated with this account. If this is an online provider please use the provider's online site." and also cannot change password using control pannel

 

Remove password

I suggest you to follow the below steps on how to make your Local Account as Administrator Account.

Method 1:

To remove password from the User Account :

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Click on ‘Control panel’.
• Select ‘User account’. (On which you want to disable password)
• Click on Remove Passowrd and follow the instructions.

Method 2:

After removing password follow the below steps to disable password page from start up.

• Press ‘Windows + W’ key to search Apps.
• Type keyword “netplwiz” in the search box
• Open netplwiz window from search list.
• On the user accounts page, uncheck the option
  “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer”
  and click OK.
• Restart the computer and check if it helps.
  

If you want to change the Administrator account follow the steps.

• Login into your current Administrator Account.
• Right click on Start button and select
  Control Panel.
• Select User Account.
• Select the option Manage another Account.
• Select the Local Account.
• Now select the option Change Account Type
  and select Administrator and click Change Account Type tab.

Trouble Changing Wi-Fi Password


I've been following the following steps to change my Wi-Fi password for some time:

1. Launch Control Panel.
2. Click "Network and Internet."
3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."
4. Click "Wi-Fi...."
5. Click "Wireless Properties."
6. Click the Security tab.
7. Check "Show characters."
8. Enter the password in "Network security key."

Those steps have been working just fine, but today I discovered a new wrinkle. If I change the password inside the router first, "Wi-Fi..." doesn't appear in step 4. This isn't much of a problem at home, because I can just change the password in Control Panel before I change it inside the router, but it would be a problem at a public hotspot, or something of that nature. I also tested Brink's instructions in "How to Connect To a Wireless Network in Windows 10," but they don't work for me either. How can I fix this?
