Windows 10: What extra software do I need with Windows 10

When you're all done with everything, don't just pull the Touro drive out, EJECT it first. The little symbol on your taskbar like this

click it and click the Touro drive.

If it barks at you saying it can't, just wait a few seconds and try again. The system is "flushing" the buffer to it.

 

Upper left corner click LOG, scroll down to the bottom and take a full screenshot and post.

 

Could it be my faulty docking station drivers?

 

I was going to ask if you could disconnect the docking station, detach it from the computer completely, uninstall it if needed, and try the backup again with the Touro directly in the laptop USB port. You seem to have several issues with the docking station.

If you do, especially if you uninstall it, you should reboot the laptop before retrying backup. I'll sit tight till you get back....

I've disconnected and I think uninstalled the docking station, rebooted, connected Touro to the laptop and still get the same result.

I don't know if this is relevant but in file explorer there are 2 Touro drives, both exactly the same.

 

no it aborts much sooner.
